ORIGINAL REVIEW: Taking it back to the 80’s this movie had all the cheese factors of a not so gruesome horror movies at that time. The movie is about a kid who witnesses a murder next door to him by a vampire and he is out to prove that his neighbor is a vampire and enlists the help of his girlfriend, best friend and television host, similar Elvira. Together they investigate and bring out of the worst in the neighbors, their vampire selves.
All the 80’s special effects were in tact and so was techno disco music that filled the movie. It was fun, enjoyable, and is not to be taken seriously. Fright Night was fun and am looking forward to Fright Night II.
UPDATED: I had seen this one recently, I think this year as a matter of fact but this time we saw on the big screen at Alamo Drafthouse. This film is a hilarious spoof on Dracula that can take itself seriously cos they did a fabulous job on it. It has a great story, fun characters that you love and a script that is enjoyable and funny without being so over the top that you are thinking you are watching a comedy.
Everyone in the movie seemed to have had this great time filming it and it is so enjoyable. I would say that I do enjoy the first one more than the remake, though the remake is very good.
