My second-holiday movie of the season just happened to be this new film on Disney+. The only reason we watched this film was because of our love for Anna Kendrick. How can you not want to watch this?
Does the world love movies about a relative of Santa coming down to the real world to get into trouble and have the world not believe them?
Elf is a prime example of this and also another Netflix film, Santa Girl. Noelle is no exception. Anna Kendrick as Noelle Kringle, the daughter of Santa Claus. When Santa passes, her brother automatically becomes Santa but he just doesn’t seem to get it. When Noelle tells her brother to take a break, he decides to vacation in Phoenix and never returns. The role of Santa then goes to a cousin, who thinks the nice list only contains about 2000 people. Noelle must go find her brother and return him to the North Pole to save Christmas.
It’s an old and overdone story that can’t be good. We went into the film thinking it would be horrible but we were wrong. Of course, there are moments when the jokes are a little too predictable, but the story had some sophisticate jokes. Anna Kendrick did a good job with the story and the more you watch, the more you enjoy the film.
It is a Disney+ release, so you’ll need to get the streaming service to see it. Who doesn’t have Disney+ yet?
