THE NUN - Official Teaser Trailer [HD]

The Nun is a origin story to The Conjuring 2, and also the 5th installment in The Conjuring Universe. While it may help to have knowledge of the film, The Conjuring. It is really not necessary because this is the set before the others, making it a good starting point.

Let’s go into the film as you don’t know what The Conjuring is. A Roman Catholic priest is sent by the Vatican to investigate the suicide of a nun in Romania. He is ordered to take along a young nun, who has yet to take her vows. The two of them head to Romania to talk to the young man, who found the nun hanging from a noose from the monastery’s window. He takes the priest and the nun to the monastery and are left to investigate and to find out if the everything is ok and if the land is still holy.

Based on the film’s plot, the film is awesome. There’s horror (not gruesome) and suspense. There’s ancient rituals, possession, and all the other things I love in a horror film. The film stars Demián Bichir and Taissa Farmiga, who are remarkable in this story. Bichir is so believable as a priest, that I tend to forget he’s only an actor. Farmiga might be heading up on the list of favorite actress, too.

If you talk about the film in context with the series, the film tends to be lacking. It’s possible that we might wait until the TCU (The Conjuring Universe) is complete to watch them all in order, but if you would like to do that now, start here…then go Annabelle: Creation, Annabelle, The Conjuring, Annabelle Comes Home, The Curse of La Llorona and The Conjuring 2.
