ABC of Horror- Day 10- J- Jason X (2001) – Meathook Cinema

Before anyone laughs at my 4 stars for this, you have to stop and think that for once they seemed to have gotten clever. Technically, there were many many things wrong with this, but on an entertaining level is good. It had action, suspense, horror, killings, explosions… these are all things that make me happy.

I actually thought it was a decent story, Jason accidentally gets frozen in a lab and gets thawed out way in the future in space of all things and he’s on a killing spree. That is excellent cause in space no one can hear you scream.

Here’s the bad… We don’t find out how the FBI really caught him and how he got to the lab in the first place. Once in space, you would think the thawing process would be more than just warming up the body temperature and regenerating dead body cells. Once awake, if you are 400 years in the future shouldn’t the people trying to kill Jason be using lasers instead of bullets.

And again, 400 years in the future are we not smart enough to change our ways, why is it always about sex and nudity. This movie could have made it without the random acts of sex.

But if you can take off all of that and some of the bad “humor” that was not really funny, you had a really good sci-if movie.
