“Go into the light, Carol Anne”…
Sometimes you wish she did go into the light, to begin with. The story starts simple, this little girl starts seeing people in the static of the TV. Didn’t we all see that? I remember when the television station went off the air in the middle of the night and we saw static. Honestly, at one in the morning when the house was quiet, that was scary.
When a bunch of supernatural stuff happens around the house, the family calls a not so cool Ghostbusters team to investigate. They tell them that the ghosts are not haunting the house, but a person: Carol Anne.
The fauxghostbusters freak out and bring in some creepy woman who is like an exorcist to bring back Carol Anne, who has been taken to the otherworld via her closet. Yes, I know… sounds crazy right?
Poltergeist, for the year it was made, was weird, creepy, and very cool; but the more I watch this movie the more I find everyone in the family to be whiny and annoying. While it is a fun watch it can get a little old pretty quickly.
